Every year, thousands of students from Europe decide to go to Poland as part of the Erasmus program. One of the most important elements of preparing for student exchange is organizing accommodation. People coming to the capital of the country have several options in this regard. Is it worth choosing an Erasmus flat in Warsaw, or is it better to go for student dormitories?
At some universities, it is possible to use dormitories. Student rooms are usually located close to universities, and besides, they offer security and relatively low rental prices. The downside is a lower level of privacy compared to other options. In addition, the campuses are mostly inhabited by students from Poland, so Erasmus students may feel a bit isolated.
Private apartments are an alternative to dormitories. Many students decide to rent such a place because of the sense of independence. Young people can choose almost any location - be it close to the university or maybe pubs and shops. One can independently adjust the standard of the apartment and the amount of rent to the budget, which is often quite limited for students. However, looking for an apartment for a person from abroad can be difficult. For this reason, some decide to "hunt" upon arrival.
A safe solution for Erasmus students may be to use the services of an agency. Little Home mediates in renting an apartment or a room. In this way, the client can avoid contact with fraudsters or experiencing unpleasant surprises. The student is assigned a consultant who contacts the client via video call. Based on expectations and budget, the best apartment proposals are then selected. These are usually locations inhabited by other international students. Interestingly, there are several packages to choose from, including services such as:
- pick-up from the airport;
- obtaining a SIM card;
- opening a bank account;
- getting a season ticket for public transport;
- assistance in official matters.
Friendly employees of the company are happy to help with assimilation in the initial weeks of stay in Poland. Such services are especially useful for people who leave home for the first time for a long time or are afraid of living on their own. Cooperation with the agency also allows students to reduce costs associated with searching for the perfect accommodation on their own.Date: 2023-05-28
